End of Race Briefing

You must be wondering what we will be updating at the race brief other than informing you about the Start and End Point? For the first time in AAC, we will share with you the route from Start to CP1. Yes, that's to say, you will have the first hand information on your race route up to CP1. We will also share about some pointers on a specific check point/route. So, be sure to send at least one representative to the race brief.

We will also update about the location of your bike drop on the morning of the race day.

Race Maps
Race maps will not be issued at the start. The first map you will received is at CP1.

Race Bibs
In view of the many feedback we have, we will stop using the race vest for AR teams. All racers (AR & TA) will be given with 2 Sticker Bibs. Good or bad idea? Let us know after the race.

Please pray for good weather on race day, including healthy PSI reading.

See you on Wednesday!

Registration Starts from 30 Jul - 15 Aug 2012

Hey Folks
Registration for AAC8 will commence on Mon, 30th July 2012, and will end on Wed, 15 Aug 2012.  Come back to this blog to link to the registration page.

Here are some answers to the questions that you might have:

1. For newbies, please ensure that you team up with someone with adventure racing experience, that will greatly better manage your race expectations;

2. Avoid forming a team of members who will all be participating in an adventure racing for the first time;

3. There will be no skills test conducted, or being organised. We do not require participant to submit any form of certification on any skills set (such as sport climbing, abseiling, kayaking etc); it pays to team up with someone who has the skills to guide you if you do not have any;

4. If you absolutely think that you need to have the necessary skills to better prepare yourself, you can opt to attend the following ropes related courses:

- Sport Climbing Course Level 1
- Abseiling Proficiency Course Level 1

The above courses will prepare you to have a better understanding of climbing equipment such as harness, karabiners and ropes. You can contact Climb Asia or Onsight Gym or Climbers' Lab for such courses.

That's about it for the time being. More race updates will be posted when it is ready.

Thank you.

AAC8 is set to GO!

Get ready!

You have about four months to prepare for your next adventure race. Yes, AAC8 will be held on Sat, 15 Sep 2012.

We have already confirmed the END POINT! Now, we are thinking how far should the race stretch to match your endurance. The start point is still in question! Any suggestions? :D

Start thinking about forming a team of 3 or 2 ... . Registration will commence in July. Fees will increase for late comers! (so typical right?!!)
